When does the eSIM activate? Can I buy it before my trip?
Yes. You can buy and install the eSIM before you travel: validity only starts when the eSIM first connects to a network covered by the plan at your destination.
Is my phone compatible with eSIM?
It depends on the model and also on the specific version: within the same model there are units with eSIM and units without. The quick check is to dial *#06# on the phone keypad: if an EID appears, your phone supports it. If no EID shows up —whether nothing appears at all, or the screen opens fine with the IMEI and the other numbers but no EID— that still means nothing: look in your settings, under SIM cards, for any option that mentions eSIM (add or activate one; the button is named differently on each brand); only if there is none can that phone not use one. You will find the compatibility checker on each destination page, and if in doubt write to us before buying.
Do I keep my number and WhatsApp?
Yes. The travel eSIM is an additional data line: your usual number stays active and WhatsApp keeps working with your regular number.
What if I run out of data during my trip?
