eSIM for Europe from Mexico (2026): prices and countries

Traveling from Mexico to Europe? A Roam2Go eSIM for Europe gives you mobile data in more than 40 European destinations for a fixed price: from €1.95 (500 MB, 3 days), €6.95 for 1 GB (7 days) or €8.95 for 3 days of unlimited data, VAT included (prices checked on 4 October 2026).

You buy it online, receive a QR code by email and connect when you land. You do not have to look for a SIM card at the airport or rely on your carrier’s roaming for data, and the same eSIM works for the whole trip, whether you stay in Madrid or travel through Spain, France and Italy in two weeks.

Why a Europe eSIM makes sense when you travel from Mexico

  • Your Mexican plan may not include Europe: check what your carrier charges for data in Europe before you leave, to avoid extra charges on your bill.
  • A fixed price for the whole trip: you know what you will pay before you leave.
  • One eSIM for many countries: it keeps working when you cross borders, including in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, which are not part of the European Union.

Prices: Roam2Go plans for Europe

Prices are in euros and include VAT. You can pay with a Mexican card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your bank converts the amount to pesos and may charge a foreign transaction fee.

Which countries are covered?

The Europe plan covers more than 40 destinations: Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Ireland and the other main European Union countries, plus the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Turkey and several Balkan countries such as Albania, Montenegro and Serbia. You will find the full list on the Europe plan page.

Before you travel: check your phone

  • It must be unlocked. A phone bought with a carrier plan can be locked to that carrier, and a locked phone will not accept another eSIM. On an iPhone, go to Settings › General › About and look at Carrier Lock: it should say “No SIM restrictions”. If it is locked, ask your carrier to unlock it before the trip.
  • It must support eSIM. Dial *#06#: if an EID appears, your phone supports eSIM. If it does not appear, that alone does not mean your phone is not compatible: look in your settings for an option to add or activate an eSIM, and check our compatible phones guide.

How to set it up, step by step

  1. Buy the plan once your trip is confirmed. You will receive the QR code by email a few minutes after the purchase.
  2. Install it on Wi-Fi before you fly by scanning the QR code (on an iPhone: Settings › Cellular › Add eSIM).
  3. Before you leave, turn on data roaming for the Roam2Go line. This does not start the plan and does not use any data.
  4. When you land, choose Roam2Go as your cellular data line and restart your phone.

The validity period only starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in one of the countries covered by the plan. Mexico is not one of them, which is why turning on data roaming before you leave does not start the plan. If this is your first eSIM, our guide on how an eSIM works explains the basics.

Keeping your Mexican number

You can keep your Mexican line switched on to receive calls and texts. Turn off data roaming for that line, so that all your data goes through the eSIM. Depending on your Mexican plan, you may need to enable roaming for calls and texts first, and your carrier may charge you for calls and texts in Europe, both the ones you make and the ones you receive. Ask your carrier before you go. WhatsApp keeps working with your usual number over the eSIM data.

Keep the time difference in mind: Spain is 7 or 8 hours ahead of Mexico City, depending on the time of year.

Unlimited or a data plan?

A week or less, with maps, photos and video calls

An unlimited plan is the simplest choice: 5 days cost €14.95 and 7 days €20.50. You get high-speed data every day and, if you use it up, you stay connected at a reduced speed.

Two to four weeks, with light use and Wi-Fi at the hotel

A data plan usually goes further: 5 GB for 30 days at €16.99 or 10 GB for 30 days at €23.99.

A long stay or working remotely

Look at 20 GB for 30 days (€36.99) or the 30-day unlimited plan (€53.99).

Frequently asked questions

Will my phone from Mexico work with a European eSIM?+
Yes, if it supports eSIM and it is unlocked. On an iPhone, Settings › General › About › Carrier Lock should say “No SIM restrictions”. If it does not, ask your carrier to unlock the phone before you travel.
Can I keep my Mexican number?+
Yes. Your Mexican line can stay on to receive calls and texts while the eSIM handles the data. Turn off data roaming for your Mexican line and ask your carrier what it charges for calls and texts in Europe, both made and received.
When should I install the eSIM?+
Once your trip is confirmed, install it on Wi-Fi before you fly and turn on data roaming for the Roam2Go line; that does not start the plan. When you land, choose Roam2Go as your data line and restart your phone. The validity period only starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in a covered country.
Can I pay from Mexico?+
Yes. Prices are in euros and you can pay with a Mexican card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your bank converts the amount to pesos and may apply a foreign transaction fee.
Does it work in the United Kingdom and Switzerland?+
Yes. Both countries are included in the Roam2Go Europe plan, together with the main European Union destinations, Norway, Iceland, Turkey and several Balkan countries. The full list is on the Europe plan page.

Compatibility and coverage

Your phone must be eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked. Careful: it does not depend only on the model but also on the specific version — within the same model there are units with eSIM and units without. Check it on your own phone with the checker on this page before buying.
